Are you a highly sensitive person (HSP)?
Welcome! High sensitivity, or Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS), is a completely normal trait that occurs in 15-20% of the population. It refers to a greater depth of processing. Think about sound, smell, taste, hearing, touch, energy - being highly sensitive means that one picks up on more stimuli in their environment.
Does any of this resonate with you?
- Are you easily overwhelmed by things like big crowds, loud noises, strong smells, or bright lights?
- Do you get rattled when you have a lot to do in a short period of time?
- Have others called you “ultra-sensitive”, like it’s a problem that you should just get over?
- Do other people’s moods affect you?
- Do you often feel like you don’t belong, like you’re an outsider, even in your own family?
- Have you been wondering whether being a HSP might explain why you feel the way you do?
If so, you’re in the right place.
Being highly sensitive is a trait that offers us many gifts, but also presents us with real challenges in our fast paced, highly stimulating world.
Want to work with me on…
- embracing your sensitivity? Many HSPs have grown up feeling like they were somehow "wrong" or "weird" because of their sensitivity. What a relief to understand this is not the case. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore and understand your sensitivity so you can start to appreciate and value this aspect of yourself.
- developing healthy coping strategies? HSPs can be more easily overwhelmed by sensory input and can struggle with setting boundaries or managing emotions. Together we work on practical strategies to manage overstimulation and overwhelm so you can build resilience and set boundaries in a healthy and assertive way.
- gaining clarity and direction? As an HSP we often live our lives adapted to what we think everybody else needs. What is good for you? What is an environment that makes you feel at ease? How can you show up and form deep connections while honouring your sensitivity? Let’s figure it out -- together!
I support you in embracing your sensitivity as a source of strength and inspiration, rather than as a source of limitation or weakness.
I offer coaching sessions in English, German, or Dutch. Our first connection call is free, so we can get to know each other, have a look at your goals and figure out if we are a good match. Once we decide we want to work together, we meet at regular intervals online or in person. Sessions are one hour long and priced at 70 EUR (incl. VAT).
My name is Johanna, and I am a HSP too.
I understand the struggles and gifts that come with being highly sensitive. I love providing support and guidance to other HSPs so they can navigate, appreciate and utilise their sensitivity.
My personal story led me to discover that I am part of the wonderful group of HSPs when I was 24. In the years prior, knowing nothing about this personality trait of mine, I often found myself confused and lonely. I couldn’t place why I felt so different and had different needs than others around me. Hiding my sensitivity and trying to fit in as well as I could became my survival strategy.
Now my sensitivity allows me to listen deeply, empathise strongly, pick up on subtle clues and create spaces that feel safe for people to share with me. Combining these strengths with my drive for meaningful connection and understanding is what led me to coaching.
"I finally no longer felt alone and abnormal. Johanna’s knowledge about high sensitivity really helped me to understand myself better and to be kinder to myself."
I had known for some time that I am a highly sensitive person (HSP). When I talked to others about it, I often felt misunderstood. I always thought I was special or different, and that it was my fault. I also didn't really know what I could do to feel better. That changed when I met Johanna. Johanna is a HSP herself, which made her really understand what I was struggling with. Both the 'big' and the 'small' things. That recognition felt so good. I finally no longer felt alone and abnormal. Through simple drawings Johanna made it very clear how high sensitivity works. Her knowledge about high sensitivity really helped me to understand myself better and be kinder to myself. I also received very concrete tips and tools to deal with these obstacles. I will continue to use these in my daily life even after coaching. Johanna is very cheerful, sweet, soft and open. She finds it important to really help you move forward. You can therefore definitely tell her if you don't feel good about something. In short: I am really grateful that I followed a coaching program with her and recommend it to anyone who is or has a suspicion of being HSP themselves.
"Where being highly sensitive used to make me feel 'different' and therefore insecure, it now gives me self-confidence and I am proud to be a HSP."
I took a course with Johanna around HSP. Being coached by her is like chatting to your best friend. She offers safety and radiates a confidence that immediately made me feel at ease. Johanna is a great listener. She asked me questions that made me suddenly formulate an answer of my own that I didn't know before. She showed me exercises that gave me insights and handed me tools to use in my daily life. Where being highly sensitive used to make me feel 'different' and therefore insecure, it now gives me self-confidence and I am proud to be a HSP.
